The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is actively seeking a Pediatric Psychologist to deliver a range of clinical services across various settings, including integrated and co-located healthcare venues, tele-mental health consultations, subspecialty pediatric clinics, and traditional mental health outpatient facilities. Faculty members may also benefit from student loan forgiveness through the Texas Mental Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program.

About the Pediatric Psychologist Position
The Pediatric Psychologist will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive behavioral and mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering both brief and long-term interventions. Clinical services may be provided in varied settings, including outpatient mental health clinics, primary care environments, and consulting with subspecialty pediatricians as well as regional primary care physicians and public-school counselors through tele-mental health services.
Essential Functions
This role requires collaboration within an interprofessional model, working alongside pediatric psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, medical students, other psychologists, and licensed counselors. The selected candidate may also offer clinical services at Dell Children's Medical Center, a pediatric Level I Trauma Center.
The Pediatric Psychologist will engage with external stakeholders such as primary care physicians and public-school personnel to enhance collaborative care for pediatric patients and at-risk students. The role involves a commitment to interdisciplinary faculty growth within the Department, with opportunities for training, supervision, and involvement in clinical research and program development.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology
• Completion of an APA or CPA accredited internship in psychology
• Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child and adolescent or pediatric psychology
• Unrestricted license to practice psychology in Texas, or ability to obtain prior to appointment
• Commitment to pursuing board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology
• Eligibility for faculty appointment at The University of Texas Dell Medical School
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience providing clinical services via tele-mental health
• Experience working in public school systems and community outreach
• Clinical teaching experience
