Job Description
Company Description COARE Biotechnology/Holdings is an emerging life sciences organization focused on advancing innovative therapies in oncology and related disease areas. The company collaborates with preclinical and clinical research teams to develop data-driven insights that support translational medicine and early-stage drug development. COARE emphasizes rigorous scientific methods, collaborative problem-solving, and the use of advanced analytics to guide strategic decisions. Team members work in a flexible, largely remote environment, contributing specialized expertise to a growing portfolio of oncology projects.
Role Description The Biostatistician — Preclinical Oncology (Contract, Remote) will support preclinical research programs by designing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments in oncology models. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with scientists to plan robust study designs, selecting appropriate statistical methods, and performing analyses of in vitro and in vivo data. The role involves preparing data sets, conducting quality checks, and generating tables, figures, and summary reports to clearly communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders. The Biostatistician will also contribute to the development of statistical analysis plans, assist in protocol and report writing, and provide guidance on data visualization and interpretation for decision-making. The position is contract-based and fully remote, requiring regular virtual meetings and proactive communication with research and leadership teams.
Qualifications
• Strong foundation in biostatistics and applied statistics for preclinical and translational oncology studies, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, and regression or mixed-model approaches.
• Proficiency with statistical software and programming tools (e.g., R, reputed company, Python, or similar), including data cleaning, analysis pipelines, and reproducible code documentation.
• Experience working with preclinical datasets (e.g., tumor growth curves, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, biomarker data, reputed company) and interpreting results in a biological and translational context.
• Ability to present complex quantitative findings in clear written and visual formats, including reports, slide decks, and data visualizations for scientific and non-technical audiences.
• Master’s or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, or a closely related quantitative discipline; relevant industry or academic experience in oncology is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional scientific teams.
• Familiarity with regulatory or scientific documentation standards (e.g., study reports, manuscripts, internal decision memos) and good data governance practices.
• Experience with experimental design software, version control tools (e.g., Git), or cloud-based data environments is a plus.
