Associate Creative Director, Copy (Oncology)
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director, Copy with a strong background in
oncology and healthcare communications to lead the development of strategic, compelling, and medically accurate creative work across multiple channels.
Pay: $100/hour
This role will partner closely with art, strategy, account, medical, and cross-functional teams to develop creative concepts, guide copy development, and ensure work is engaging, on-brand, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead copy development and creative concepting across integrated oncology campaigns.
- Develop clear, compelling, and strategically sound messaging for healthcare professional and patient audiences.
- Translate complex scientific and clinical information into accessible, engaging communications.
- Partner with art directors, designers, strategists, and account teams to develop cohesive creative solutions.
- Provide creative direction, feedback, and mentorship to copywriters and other team members.
- Present creative concepts and recommendations to internal teams and clients.
- Ensure all copy aligns with brand strategy, medical accuracy, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of creative quality.
- Participate in medical, legal, and regulatory review processes and incorporate feedback as needed.
- Stay current on oncology developments, healthcare marketing trends, and evolving creative best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant professional copywriting experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences marketing.
- Previous experience at the Associate Creative Director or senior copy leadership level.
- Strong oncology experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop integrated creative campaigns across digital, social, print, video, and other channels.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
- Exceptional writing, editing, conceptual thinking, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to simplify complex clinical and scientific information without sacrificing accuracy.
- Strong presentation and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience mentoring and providing creative direction to junior and mid-level writers.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and healthcare/pharmaceutical work.
