Assistive Technology Therapist Specialist in Fremont, CA

This position requires in-person engagement near Fremont, CA, and is structured for 2 days per week, though the work could feasibly be completed in just one day, offering valuable flexibility. Your expertise will be essential for case-by-case evaluations, collaborating with staff, and recommending individualized solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification in Assistive Technology (national certification not required, but must hold relevant certification beyond completing CEUs)

• Strong background in assessing and implementing assistive, adaptive, or medical technology for students with profound orthopedic impairments

• Excellent communication, consultative, and documentation skills

• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within educational or pediatric settings

• Ability to adapt quickly and thoughtfully to individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person assessments to determine appropriate assistive technology for students with significant physical impairments

• Consult with classroom staff, therapists, and families to ensure optimal support and integration of medical technology

• Create and deliver training and resources regarding the effective use of assistive technology devices

• Support the documentation process and comply with education and medical guidelines

• Remain current on advancements in assistive technology and best practices in the field
