Experteer Overview
In this role you lead the US Medical Affairs for Rare Blood Disorders, shaping medical plans that align with the franchise strategy and collaborating with Global Medical, R&D, Safety, Sales & Marketing, and Regulatory teams. You will build and sustain KOL relationships, guide data generation for local market access, and oversee medical governance across outputs and training. The position sits on the US Specialty Care Medical Affairs leadership team, driving cross-functional partnerships and compliant medical education. You will influence strategic priorities, balance risk, and advance patient-centric outcomes in rare hematology.
Compensation / Benefits
• Provide inspirational leadership to the US Medical Affairs RBD team and drive priorities
• Lead the US Medical RBD Stakeholder Engagement strategy
• Represent US RBD Medical Affairs to HCPs, thought leaders, and medical associations
• Develop and maintain key opinion leader relationships for the franchise and broader healthcare community
• Oversee insights gathering from healthcare stakeholders (KOLs, payers, competent authorities)
• Lead local data generation to support market access and PLC management
• Collaborate with health economics and Medical Managed Care teams on opportunities
• Oversee data dissemination strategy for the US Immunology portfolio within value propositions
• Oversee training and education events for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with FDA, OIG, HIPAA and ethical guidelines; review medical/scientific content across outputs
• Lead medical expertise for all US RBD Medical programs
• Assess risks to identify issues, conflicts, or gaps and provide solutions
• Implement policies for medical education ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance
• Oversee franchise medical budget and align partners to accomplish priorities
• Collaborate with other therapeutic areas to leverage expertise
Tasks
• Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD)
• Minimum 15 years' experience in Medical Affairs including 7+ years leading a medical function
• Minimum 10 years' experience leading high-performing teams
• Proven track record in developing and executing medical strategies in key markets
• Proven experience building and maintaining a KOL network in key markets
• Experience collaborating across departments in a global context
• Extensive experience handling safety issues
• Experience working in a complex, international company and matrix environment
