GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel Radiation Therapist for a travel job in Winchester, Virginia.

Opportunity:
Radiation Therapist
Job Details:
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 days) with some schedule variation
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Provide daily care of cancer patients including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments
• Perform simulations and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students
• Assist during Brachytherapy procedures
• Assist in treatment planning procedures including tumor localization and dosimetry
• Triage sick patients to nursing for evaluation
• Check prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification prior to treatment
• Schedule patients and explain pre-treatment and post-treatment procedures
• Interface with physicists and dosimetrists at initiation of treatment
• Prepare room and equipment for patient according to prescription and immobilization devices
• Take and check images of all treated areas, process and file accordingly
• Maintain visual and audible contact with patient during treatments
• Reinforce physician, dietitian, and care team recommendations to patients regarding treatment reactions and care
• Observe and report unusual patient reactions or events and assist in emergency treatment
• Observe radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
• Document treatment doses accurately and check charges daily for accurate billing
• Set up IMRT and 3-D patients properly in CT and create proper immobilization devices
• Document set-up instructions and pertinent information for dosimetry calculations
• EMR system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ARRT
• Virginia license required (or status of license/VA Temp License acceptable with pending VA License)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
