Radiation Therapist Job Details
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990–$2,140
• Location: West Reading, Pennsylvania
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based Radiation Oncology
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending January 17, 2027
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week; schedule may be 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Additional Coverage: Occasional holiday call coverage
• Work Arrangement: On-site
Radiation Therapist Job Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with Varian radiation therapy equipment
• Experience with radiation treatment delivery, CT simulation, and treatment planning workflows
• Ability to complete required Pennsylvania fingerprinting and child abuse clearance processes
• New graduates may be considered; clinical competency and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential
Radiation Therapy Responsibilities
• Administer prescribed radiation treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist
• Obtain and verify images used for treatment planning, targeting, and patient positioning
• Assess patient condition before simulation and treatment and communicate relevant findings to the care team
• Provide clear, compassionate education and support throughout the simulation and treatment process
• Create immobilization devices and treatment aids when assigned to CT simulation
• Operate a CT scanner and MED RAD power injector for IV contrast administration as appropriate
• Obtain and analyze cross-sectional imaging to support treatment planning
• Perform blood draws as indicated and follow established radiation safety and quality protocols
• Document treatments, patient responses, and clinical activities accurately
