Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Physical Therapist License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - California Physical Therapist License - BLS Certification Description: Seeking a full-time physical therapist in a hospital setting focused on acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that improve patient mobility. Relieves pain, increases strength, and improves or corrects disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and other healthcare providers through competent assessment. Monitors care and communicates effectively. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. Provides clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Plans, prepares, and implements individually designed physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning. Completes and documents patient evaluations and tests per established standards and regulatory requirements. Develops and updates the patient's Plan of Care based on assessment data and identified problems. Assesses and provides treatment for patients as per the Plan of Care. Completes all documentation related to charge capture as per established standards. Coordinates patient care effectively and efficiently with other care providers and support team members. Works flexible shift assignments as needed. Maintains accurate documentation related to patient care and therapy performed. May perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and retrieving electronic health records. Participates in quality improvement processes and maintains a clean and safe working environment. Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information and prevents its inappropriate disclosure. Retains certification and completes mandated continuing education requirements for accreditation and licensure. Education: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy graduate program.
