Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive oncology nursing care for patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation, and related therapies while on travel assignments.
• Assess, monitor, and accurately document patient status, side effects, and responses to oncology treatments, escalating concerns as necessary.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy safely in accordance with oncology protocols, infusion standards, and facility policies.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management strategies, and post-treatment care to enhance understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain precise electronic health records, medication documentation, and treatment logs in line with regulatory standards.
• Follow infection control, safety standards, and hazardous drug handling procedures in all clinical environments.
• Quickly orient to new facilities while adapting to various EMR systems, workflows, and local policies as a travel nurse.
