Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Oncology
Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Oncology team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, particularly in medical-surgical care, with a preference for experience in oncology.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with hematologic malignancies and benign hematology conditions.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage oncologic emergencies.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement treatment modalities.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Rapid Response Teams.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures.
• Float to other medical-surgical and oncology units as needed.
Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience is required; hematology-oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
• Proficient in MS/Tele nursing, including telemetry monitoring and management.
• Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy, including central and peripheral line management.
• Familiarity with feeding tube care and management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Hours & Scheduling

This position requires a commitment to a rotating night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. Variable weekend scheduling may be required based on unit needs, and there are no set or blocked scheduling options available.
Additional Information

Parking permits are available for staff, offering various options with differing access and costs, allowing flexibility based on individual needs.
