Job Summary:

Hospice Nurse in South Portland, Maine. This full-time position involves providing compassionate hospice care to patients within their homes and supporting their families. The role requires clinical expertise in hospice services and the ability to work independently within a home health setting.

Job Details:

• Position Description: Please review facility fixed notes for additional details. This is an urgent start position, with full-time hours Monday through Friday and a weekend rotation.

• Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday, with weekend and on-call rotations, typically within business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Orientation is scheduled for 1 week.

• Required Qualifications: RN license for the State of Maine, valid drivers license, and support skills for common hospice diagnoses including wound care, IV antibiotic teaching, and genitourinary care. Experience in hospice care is preferred; first-time travelers considered only if they have home health experience. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

• Preferred Qualifications: Hospice experience, home health background, ability to support other agency locations if census is low.

• Additional Information: Support within the department includes scheduling, clinical management, and lead support team. The nurse will be utilizing an electronic medical record system (Netsmart) and provided through vendor IV pumps. Support may be provided within Ellsworth territory with possible support at other agency locations depending on census.
