Are you passionate about providing care where it's needed most? We are seeking a dedicated Travel Hospice RN to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality nursing care to patients while offering essential support to their families. You will have the opportunity to work at different hospice branches, stepping in during times of need.
This role will support multiple locations across Western Tennessee, including Dickson, Selmer, Clarksville, Columbia, Dyersburg, Jackson, Lawrenceburg, Memphis, and Paris. This position requires some overnight travel, and we offer a fleet vehicle or mileage reimbursement, along with a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary.
As a Travel Hospice RN, Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Providing exceptional nursing care to hospice patients
• Developing and implementing personalized care plans
• Leading and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams such as LPNs, CNAs, and HHAs
• Understanding and addressing the diverse needs of patients—physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental
• Documenting care accurately to comply with hospice protocols
• Educating families and caregivers about care procedures, medications, and safety measures
• Participating in on-call duties and providing after-hours care as necessary
• Cooperating with physicians and the broader care team
• Facilitating referrals, regulatory documentation, and payer compliance
• Traveling to various Gentiva hospice locations to address urgent staffing needs
Work Schedule & Travel:
This role typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional on-call responsibilities. Travel requirements may include:
• Overnight travel within a 100-mile radius
• Frequent overnight travel across multiple states
• Regional travel with necessary overnight stays based on assignment demands
A company fleet car is available for eligible staff.
What You Bring:
• A valid RN license in the state of employment
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in hospice, home health, acute care, long-term care, oncology, or similar high-acuity settings
• Current CPR certification
• A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
• Experience in hospice and end-of-life care
• Strong clinical assessment and compassionate communication skills
• Excellent critical thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable in diverse environments with changing needs
• Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
• Composed and supportive in crisis situations; adept at engaging with families
