Therapeutic Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology - Certified or Board Eligible

In the realm of disease treatment, the Therapeutic Physicist Certified is tasked with guiding the proper utilization of x-rays, gamma rays, electrons, and other charged particle beams. They also supervise the operation of relevant equipment and enforce safety regulations for radiation exposure in medical procedures.

Essential Job Function:
• Carries out scheduled testing to ensure the quality and functionality of treatment-related machinery and systems.
• Executes radiation treatments that demand the attendance of a therapeutic medical physicist.
• Examination of computer-aided tools in the planning and calculation processes for radiation therapy, encompassing external beam and brachytherapy modalities.
• Evaluates treatment effectiveness through dosimetric measurements on patients.
• Delivers advice to radiation oncologists, clinical personnel, and patients whenever needed.
• Takes part in endorsement and initiation.
• Fulfills any other responsibilities as directed.

Education:
• Required: Master's Degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field.

Experience:
• Required: 1 year of medical physics experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Certified by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
