Job Title: Staff Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Staff Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. The Staff Radiation Therapist will work closely with physicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide effective treatment and support throughout the patient care journey.

The Staff Radiation Therapist plays a critical role in cancer treatment by accurately administering radiation therapy, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining treatment records. The Staff Radiation Therapist will operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, perform patient positioning procedures, and verify treatment plans to ensure precision and effectiveness. The Staff Radiation Therapist must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient-centered care.

The Staff Radiation Therapist is responsible for educating patients about treatment procedures, addressing concerns, and creating a supportive environment during treatment sessions. The Staff Radiation Therapist will follow established safety protocols and ensure compliance with radiation protection standards. Responsibilities:
• Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists.
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Position patients accurately for treatment procedures.
• Review treatment plans and verify treatment parameters before therapy sessions.
• Monitor patients during radiation therapy treatments.
• Document treatment records and patient information accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding radiation therapy procedures.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and healthcare staff.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
• Perform quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and treatment documentation.
• Support patient comfort and emotional well-being throughout treatment.
• Participate in department meetings, training, and continuing education activities.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
• Assist with patient scheduling and treatment coordination.
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety guidelines.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
• Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and urgent situations.
• Uphold ethical and professional standards of healthcare practice.

Education:
• Associates Other or Accredited Program Other

Certifications:
• ARRT-T - ARRT Radiation Therapy
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years Experience in Radiation Therapy Preferredmust be graduate of accredited radiation therapy program
