Job Description

About Lindonlight
Lindonlight is dedicated to the discovery and development of transformative therapies for pediatric brain tumors. The organization operates as an integrated ecosystem comprised of the Lindonlight Foundation, Lindonlight Collective, and Lindonlight Bio. Within this ecosystem, Lindonlight Bio is focused on developing promising therapeutics for pediatric glioma.

Position Summary
The Senior Scientist is a laboratory-based position, who will set up a new laboratory and conduct drug discovery and validation-stage laboratory experiments towards the development of novel therapeutics in pediatric glioma. This role requires extensive wet-lab experience in cancer biology and molecular biology, as well as a deep understanding of cancer biology, cellular mechanisms, and experimental systems that bridge discovery and translation. The ideal candidate will integrate insights from cell signaling, metabolism, and tumor microenvironment biology to guide the advancement of novel compounds and therapeutic candidates through preclinical development.
The Senior Scientist will join a small, dedicated team and independently design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies, serving as a scientific anchor point for cross-disciplinary collaborations across the Lindonlight network with potential opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities and Opportunities
Join a recently established cancer molecular biology lab in the Houston ecosystem focused on pediatric glioma
Carry out translational, and biochemical/molecular biology mechanism of action studies to understand response to novel and repurposed drugs, broadly, including small molecules, ADC, and other modalities.
Apply standard molecular, biochemical and cellular biology tools, including, Western blotting, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, qRT-PCR, CRISPR-based gene editing, Enzymatic Assays, Microscopy, and plate-based cell proliferation assays.
Maintain mammalian cell lines.
Explore metabolic and signaling pathways driving glioma growth, drug sensitivity/resistance, and differentiation through both biochemical and phenotypic studies.
Turn raw data into digestible and understandable figures, utilize GraphPad Prism, or other analytical software for data analysis and presentation.
Record and document experiments with ELN software.
Collaborate with academic, KOL, CROs and partner organizations to carry out experiments and to integrate biological data into project execution/strategy.
Communicate findings to leadership, partners, and the broader scientific community through reports, presentations, and publications.

Qualifications
Required:
PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Pharmacology, or related field, with 2+ years of postdoctoral and/or industry experience.
Proven record of molecular biological discovery and mechanistic investigation of therapeutic candidates.
Advanced technical laboratory expertise in molecular and cell biology, including mammalian cell culture, genetic manipulation (overexpression, shRNA knockdown, CRISPR knockout) microscopy, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, sub-cellular fractionation, immunoprecipitation, and gene modulation systems.
Experience developing and executing (predominantly) cell-based assays for Cancer modeling and compound evaluation.
Strong understanding of cancer biology and oncogenic cell-signaling networks
Expertise in drug target validation and mechanism-of-action studies
Aseptic mammalian cell culture experience is required
Record of impactful publications and/or patents in oncology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or translational biology.
Preferred:
Experience with in vitro and in vivo brain tumor models (patient-derived lines, organoids, or xenografts)
Extensive experience and track record of carrying out cytotoxicity/CTG drug-evaluations
Familiarity with multi-omics integration (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics)
Experience with PD-biomarkers in the oncogenic kinase space
Understanding of metabolic and signaling crosstalk in cancer progression
