We are seeking a (Senior) Medical Director in Oncology to serve as the primary clinical partner for our Life Sciences account teams. In this role, you will provide strategic clinical guidance to biopharma partners, translating complex oncology concepts and real-world evidence into actionable data and AI-driven solutions. Your work will directly accelerate drug development and improve patient outcomes.
### What You'll Do
- Build and execute holistic, long-term clinical strategies for assigned accounts, leveraging Tempus' multimodal real-world data (RWD) datasets, agentic AI tools, and clinical trial acceleration solutions.
- Serve as the primary clinical peer to biopharma Clinical Directors, Medical Affairs leaders, and Translational Medicine executives, maintaining proactive engagement cadence.
- Develop indication-specific "battle decks" that map real-world standards of care, biomarker testing patterns, and unmet clinical needs against client pipeline assets.
- Analyze client pipelines, clinical trial readouts, and investor relations materials to proactively anticipate needs and formulate strategic growth plans.
- Synthesize medical conference updates (ASCO, ESMO, SABCS, etc.) into actionable insights, advising on trial protocol design, cohort selection, and synthetic control arms.
- Partner with internal teams on high-value client calls and act as an internal subject matter expert to ensure scientific accuracy and product usability.
### Who You Are
- You hold an MD or DO degree and are board certified (or board eligible) in Medical Oncology.
- You have strong clinical expertise in Gastrointestinal (GI) or Breast cancers (highly preferred).
- You are fluent in biopharma drug pipelines, clinical trial design, regulatory pathways, and applying complex real-world datasets (NGS, clinical data).
- You bring executive presence and a track record of building trusted relationships with biopharma leadership, leading complex initiatives, and presenting to executive teams.
### Compensation & Benefits
- The expected salary range for this role is **$270,000 - $350,000** per year (actual salary varies based on qualifications and experience).
- Full benefits including incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical coverage, and other benefits.
