Job Description
The opportunity
Alembic Therapeutics is seeking a resourceful, hands-on market access professional to manage day-to-day activities supporting payer contracting, patient access, and patient support programs.
This role is for someone who takes ownership, works comfortably in the details, and follows through. You will manage multiple workstreams, coordinate internal and external partners, resolve issues, and build practical processes that keep commitments on track.
The initial focus will be payer contract administration and rebate coordination, patient support program management, and related funding and invoicing. You will also help connect market access initiatives with field sales through clear communication, practical resources, and training.
The role offers meaningful opportunities to expand into pricing and contracting, account management, patient services, and broader market access responsibilities as business needs and your capabilities evolve. Appointment at Senior Manager or Associate Director will reflect experience and demonstrated ability to independently lead these activities.
What you will own
Payer contract management and rebate coordination
• Manage the operational lifecycle of payer and pharmacy benefit manager contracts, including documentation, internal approvals, implementation, amendments, renewals, and key deadlines.
• Maintain accurate contract records and translate contractual obligations into clear action items, owners, and timelines.
• Coordinate rebate processing with internal teams and external administrators, tracking submissions, validation, discrepancies, approvals, and payment status.
• Investigate issues, bring the right partners together, and drive resolution through completion.
• Partner with Finance to support rebate reporting, reconciliations, and accrual inputs, with clear documentation and appropriate approvals.
Patient support program management
• Manage day-to-day operations of patient support programs and serve as a primary contact for participating vendors.
• Monitor service delivery, program performance, and outstanding issues; hold partners accountable for agreed commitments.
• Coordinate program updates and operational improvements with Commercial, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external partners.
• Identify recurring access barriers and recommend practical improvements to program processes and patient support.
• Maintain program documentation and coordinate appropriate review and approval of changes.
Program funding, budgets, and invoicing
• Track program budgets, funding requirements, spending, and vendor invoices.
• Coordinate funding requests and replenishments, as applicable, to support continuity of approved programs.
• Review invoices against contracted terms, supporting documentation, and services delivered; resolve discrepancies and route for approval.
• Work with Finance and Accounts Payable to track payments, reconcile balances, and support forecasting and period-end reporting.
• Provide clear visibility into spending, upcoming obligations, and potential budget variances.
Field collaboration and access education
• Serve as a headquarters resource for field sales questions about approved access initiatives and patient support programs.
• Help develop and deliver training on coverage information, program processes, available resources, and appropriate escalation pathways.
• Gather field feedback, identify recurring issues, and coordinate responses with the appropriate partners.
• Ensure field communications and training materials follow company review and approval processes.
Process improvement and execution
• Build and maintain practical trackers, operating procedures, and performance reports.
• Anticipate deadlines and dependencies, flag risks early, and recommend solutions.
• Improve workflows to reduce errors, shorten turnaround times, and strengthen accountability.
What you bring
• 3+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical market access operations, contracting, rebate administration, patient services, or a related function. Associate Director candidates should demonstrate broader ownership and the ability to lead complex workstreams independently.
• Direct experience in payer contract administration or rebate operations, plus relevant exposure to patient support programs or vendor management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage detailed, deadline-driven work and deliver results across multiple priorities.
• Comfort reviewing contracts, reconciling data, tracking budgets, and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to turn operational information into clear reports and recommendations.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and persistent follow-through with colleagues and external partners.
• Ability to work independently, recognize when escalation is needed, and bring proposed solutions forward.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Additional experience that would be valuable
• Management of copay, patient assistance, hub, or other patient support services.
• Experience training or supporting pharmaceutical field sales teams.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical contracting administration and data reporting systems.
What success looks like
Contracts and rebate activities stay on schedule. Patient support vendors deliver on their commitments. Program funding and invoices are accurate and visible. Field teams receive clear, timely access information. Issues are identified early, resolved efficiently, and followed through to completion.
Compensation and benefits
Competitive salary, bonus, and benefits.
