Job Description
Leading global financial institution is looking for a senior in-house lawyer to join its Markets Legal team, advising institutional Fixed Income and Equities businesses across trading, products, regulation and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Advise Fixed Income and Equities sales & trading businesses on legal, regulatory and reputational matters.
- Support new products, new markets and strategic business initiatives with practical, commercially focused legal advice.
- Draft, review and negotiate trading agreements and transactional documentation.
- Partner with Risk, Credit, Compliance and senior business stakeholders on legal and regulatory obligations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on their impact, including working with international legal teams.
Key skills & experience
- J.D. and admission to the New York, Pennsylvania or Florida Bar.
- 12+ years' legal experience, ideally within a major financial institution or leading law firm.
- Direct experience advising Fixed Income and/or Equities sales & trading or capital markets businesses.
- Strong knowledge of institutional trading products and industry-standard trading documentation.
- A commercial, practical approach, with the ability to advise senior business stakeholders and balance legal risk with business objectives.
