About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Computational Biologist to join their dedicated oncology research team in Orlando, Florida . This position is critical for driving innovation in cancer research, focusing on the analysis of complex genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data to uncover novel therapeutic targets and understand mechanisms of drug resistance. You will lead the development and application of cutting-edge computational methods, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, biologists, and chemists, and contribute to high-impact publications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background, expertise in cancer genomics, and a passion for advancing cancer treatment. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and validate advanced computational and statistical analyses of large-scale cancer genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets. Develop and maintain robust bioinformatic pipelines for data processing, quality control, and interpretation. Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and translate them into computational strategies for oncology projects. Identify and explore novel cancer pathways, driver mutations, and potential therapeutic targets through integrated data analysis. Contribute to the interpretation of results, manuscript preparation, and presentation of findings to internal and external audiences. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cancer genomics, computational biology, and bioinformatics. Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the growth of the computational biology group. Work with large datasets, including single-cell sequencing, mutation data, and gene expression profiles. Requirements Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Oncology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology, with a focus on cancer research. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant scientific libraries. Strong understanding of statistical genetics, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques as applied to cancer data. Experience with high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-Seq) analysis, particularly in the context of cancer. Familiarity with cancer-specific databases and resources (e.g., TCGA, COSMIC). Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex computational concepts to non-experts. Proven track record of scientific achievement, demonstrated through publications or significant project contributions. Benefits
