Section Chief of Breast Surgery / Medical Director of Breast Program

The Department of Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH) seeks an accomplished Breast Surgeon and academic leader to serve as Section Chief of Breast Surgery and Medical Director ofermis the Breast Program at the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center (HMNCC). This prominent leadership opportunity allows you to lead a system-wide academic breast surgery program at a facility nationally ranked for cancer care. The successful candidate will provide clinical, strategic, and academic leadership while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of dedicated specialists.

Practice Info

• Clinically based at HMH in the Texas Medical Center

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists, including radiologists, pathologists, reconstructive surgeons, and medical and radiation oncologists

• Practice within the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center alongside nationally recognized experts in cancer care, research, and education

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, strategic, and academic leadership for the breast program, with responsibility for program development, quality improvement, multidisciplinary care, and education

• Participate in breast tumor boards

• Teach general surgery residents and medical students

• Develop breast surgery curriculum and conferences

Shift & Schedule

• Shared, limited surgical oncology/breast surgery call coverage is available, if desired

Requirements

• Significant surgical leadership and administrative experience

• Demonstrated expertise in the management of benign and malignant breast disease

• Fellowship training in breast surgery and/or complex general surgical oncology (preferred)

• American Board of Surgery certification (preferred)
