Job Description

At a glance
Position: Scientist, Computational Biology
Team: Discovery
Where: Millbrae, California, USA
Pay: $142,000 to $171,150 a year, plus bonus and equity
Posted: 28 September 2026
Apply: open until filled (re-checked 2 November 2026)
What the computational biology scientist at Eikon will do
Act as the go-to expert for high-dimensional data such as bulk and single-cell or single-nucleus transcriptomics
Work with discovery scientists to design and read in vitro and in vivo studies
Run reproducible analyses of transcriptomic, genomic and other complex data
Build internal tools and pipelines, and oversee outside analysis partners
Use version control and workflow tools, and help write papers and talks
Why this role matters
Choosing the right target is the riskiest early step in a cancer drug programme. Careful analysis of public and in-house data can drop weak targets before money is spent on them. This role owns that analysis.
What Eikon Therapeutics is looking for
A PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology or a related quantitative field
Analysis of complex data such as bulk, single-cell or spatial transcriptomics, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, CRISPR screens or proteomics
Hands-on oncology target discovery and validation
At least one first-author paper in a peer-reviewed journal
Work with public data sets such as DepMap, UK Biobank, TCGA, GTEx, ENCODE and the Human Cell Atlas
R or Python, plus cloud, version control and containers
Nice to have
Internship or industry experience, which the ad calls highly desirable
Pay and location
The posting gives an expected salary range of $142,000 to $171,150 a year, depending on skills and market demand. Pay also includes bonus and equity. The role is in Millbrae, California. The ad does not mention visa sponsorship.
