School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Shawnee, Kansas

Bring your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic school-based role. This contract assignment begins ASAP and runs through May 2027, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced occupational therapists and support students growth and daily living skills.

In this position, youll work under the supervision of district OTs, offering vital assistance to help manage growing caseloads. As a COTA, you may be assigned to one to three school campuses, visiting each weekly to deliver direct support, interventions, and guidance. Youll have the flexibility to design your weekly schedule, allowing you to balance your professional duties to best serve your students and partners.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

• Experience in educational or pediatric settings is highly desirable

• Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Flexibility to travel between campuses within the district as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans under the guidance of a supervising occupational therapist

• Conduct therapeutic activities to help students improve their daily functioning and participate in school routines

• Document progress and adapt interventions as needed

• Provide support and resources to students, staff, and families as appropriate

• Travel weekly to assigned campuses

This contract role offers a compensation package that recognizes your years of experience: those with 0-3 years receive $40 hourly, 4-6 years earn $45 hourly, and those with 7+ years are compensated at $50 hourly.
