Sarcoma Clinical Faculty

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible or tenure-ineligible clinical faculty position with a subspecialty focus on Sarcoma at UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA. The successful candidate will strengthen clinical and clinical research efforts in Sarcoma oncology, attend inpatient and outpatient services, and participate in multidisciplinary team care within the Cancer Center. Additionally, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students as part of the educational mission.

Practice Info

• Outpatient facilities at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center or in Community Oncology sites in Fishersville, Culpeper, and Charlottesville (Pantops location)

• Inpatient Hematology/Oncology and stem cell units

• Hematology and oncology consultation services

Responsibilities

• Strengthen the clinical and clinical research efforts in Sarcoma oncology utilizing translational research opportunities and resources available at the University

• Attend inpatient and outpatient services

• Participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center, for a growing number of patients with sarcoma and melanoma

• Actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students

Requirements

• Candidates must have an MD or equivalent

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine by the appointment start date

• Board-eligibility or Board-certification in Medical Oncology is required

• Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with sarcoma is required

• Pass a background check and pre-employment health/drug screening
