Job Description
Job Title: RN - Oncology
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled RN - Oncology to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cancer treatment and related medical services. The RN - Oncology will deliver patient-centered care, administer treatments, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes. The RN - Oncology plays a critical role in supporting patients and families throughout the treatment journey while maintaining high standards of nursing practice and compassionate care.
The RN - Oncology is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, administering medications and oncology treatments, and monitoring patient responses to therapies. The RN - Oncology works closely with physicians, specialists, and healthcare staff to coordinate treatment plans and ensure continuity of care. The RN - Oncology must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, emotional resilience, and a commitment to patient advocacy.
This RN - Oncology role requires expertise in oncology nursing principles, patient education, symptom management, and clinical documentation. The RN - Oncology will educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment expectations, side effect management, medication instructions, and long-term health considerations. The RN - Oncology will also contribute to patient safety initiatives and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and evidence-based nursing practices.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to oncology patients undergoing treatment and recovery.
• Assess patient conditions and perform comprehensive nursing evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans.
• Administer chemotherapy, medications, intravenous therapies, and supportive treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and identify complications or adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams regarding treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment processes, medications, and symptom management.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Monitor laboratory results and communicate findings appropriately.
• Support pain management and symptom control interventions.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety standards and healthcare regulations.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and patient concerns.
• Assist with patient discharge planning and follow-up care coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and professional development activities.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and caregivers throughout treatment journeys.
Education:
• Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
• Required Minimum Experience
• Less than 1 year Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours Required
• direct patient care experience Preferred
• Required Minimum Skills

• Reg Nurse (Single State) Required
• RN - Multi-state Compact Required
• Basic Life Support Required
• BLS - Instructor Required
