Registered Nurse - BMT/Oncology
This is a 13-week contract position for a dedicated Registered Nurse in the BMT/Oncology unit. Join our dynamic team and provide exceptional care to patients requiring specialized treatment.
Location
South Austin, TX
Schedule
Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends. No call required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy/biotherapy treatments and blood products, as well as performing frequent lab draws and managing cell transplants. Candidates must have TCT experience and hold the full ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification (15.25 contact hours).
Responsibilities
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments following strict guidelines.
• Perform blood product administration and frequent lab draws.
• Manage care for patients undergoing cell transplants.
• Collaborate with pharmacy personnel for the safe handling of antineoplastic medications.
• Adhere to safety protocols and policies related to hazardous drugs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Current RN license.
• Oncology experience required.
• Must possess full ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification.
• Experience in BMT and CAR-T is preferred.
