Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Oncology Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a Surgical Oncology Step Down and Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in oncology nursing practices and the ability to manage complex patient care needs.

Shifts

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

• 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

• Every other weekend (EOW) and Every other holiday (EOH)

• 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical oncology patients in a step-down setting.

• Monitor patient vital signs and telemetry readings to ensure safety and detect any changes in condition.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.

• Assess and document patient progress and response to treatment.

• Educate patients and their families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, and wellness strategies.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state of practice.

• Previous experience in oncology or related nursing specialty is preferred.

• Current certifications as required, including but not limited to BLS and ACLS.

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and staff.

Credentialing Requirements

• License/Certificate Verification

• Proof of immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza

• Annual TB Questionnaire and Fit Test documentation

• Valid Driver's License/State ID

• Criminal Background Check and OIG Search clearance

• Completion of relevant employment and education verification processes
