RN - Medical Oncology Weekend Shift
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Oncology.
This full-time role offers weekend shift options across all schedules, providing an opportunity to deliver compassionate, life-saving care in a supportive environment.
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers direct patient care by applying the nursing process and demonstrating clinical expertise relevant to oncology nursing.
Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and hospital policies ensures the highest standards of patient safety and care quality.
Implement patient safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
Manage and care for central lines while preventing surgical site infections according to established guidelines.
Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families to support positive health outcomes.
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and inform the healthcare team.
Document all patient care activities and quality measures accurately to support clinical decisions.
Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to improve their healthcare experience.
Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop professional skills.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.
Current RN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure.
Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected.
Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
