About the position
This is a full time, benefited position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Located primarily at Torrey Pines in La Jolla but oversees all Scripps Cancer Clinic sites (Rancho Bernardo, Torrey Pines, Jefferson, Encinitas & Prebys). Responsibilities
• Manage RN Specialty Nurse Navigators who support our patients throughout the continuum of care.
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage staffing schedules
• Develop staff training and professional development plans
• Be responsible for the daily operations of the patient care units or departments in an efficient and cost-effective manner, Ensure appropriate equipment and resources are available to staff to do their job.
• Develop and implement workflows that improve patient access, standard work and satisfaction
• Monitor clinic productivity, patient volumes and operational performance metrics
• Contribute to strategic planning of business units.
• Coordinate the ongoing development and productivity of the physician office practices
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree plus five years applicable clinical experience, two of which in a leadership role
• Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care
• Graduate of an accredited program
• Applicable experience in a healthcare environment and three years of leadership experience
• Ability to effectively manage healthcare business and operational practices
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applicable systems
• Current California RN license
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required in clinical setting
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor's/Master's degree or MSN is strongly preferred
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate is strongly preferred
• OCN
• Outpatient experience
