RN Supervisor - Interventional Radiology (IR)

Baylor Scott & White Health | Waxahachie, TX

Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative RN Supervisor to lead our Interventional Radiology (IR) team in Waxahachie. This leader will oversee daily clinical and operational activities while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and patient-centered care.

About The Role

As the RN Supervisor, you will provide leadership and support to a highly specialized procedural nursing team. You will be responsible for coordinating daily operations, staffing, patient flow, quality and safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and team development. This role partners closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise IR nursing staff and daily department operations

Manage staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and workflow coordination

Promote quality, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Support onboarding, education, coaching, and performance management

Drive process improvement and employee engagement efforts

Provide visible clinical leadership in a fast-paced procedural environment

Required Qualifications

Current RN license

Strong clinical nursing background

Interventional Radiology or procedural nursing experience

Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Experience managing staffing, patient flow, and operational priorities

Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership or supervisory experience in IR, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, PACU, or other procedural areas

Specialty certification (CRN, RCIS, or related certification)

Experience with quality improvement and Lean/process improvement initiatives

Budgeting, productivity, and staffing management experience

Knowledge of Magnet principles and professional nursing practice

Job Summary

As a Nursing Supervisor, oversee assigned team. Nurture safe, caring environment for patients, families, staff. Promote decision-making and partnership. Your tasks include overseeing operations and productivity. Assist Nursing Manager with policy implementation, budget allocation, quality improvement, and educational programs. Offer input to shared governance councils to help achieve priorities. You will also provide nursing care. Your role is vital in ensuring high-quality medical services and exceptional patient care.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Recognize possible problems and apply problem-solving strategies in relation to both patient care and resources.
• Manage, guide, and assess the capability of the nursing team in delivering cost-conscious and patient-centric care.
• Distribute resources judiciously to achieve optimal patient care and operational productivity without compromising on cost-effectiveness.
• Establish policies and procedures meticulously in alignment with the standards established by the accreditation body and the institution's priorities.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree
• At least (3) three years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Candidate must have (RN) Registered Nurse license.
• (BLS) Basic Life Support certification needed within (30) thirty days of hire if not already held.
