Job Description
Location: 179 North Buncombe School Rd, Weaverville, 28787 Suite 102
Shift: Mon- Fri 8am-5pm
• Educates patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs.. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, ensuring legal and ethical practice.
• Ensure the appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment.
• Assists physicians in providing care to patients with oncology and hematology conditions.
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, responses, and assessment of changes.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Communicates effectively with front office staff to coordinate patient care.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
• Exemplifies AdventHealth’s core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It through behavior.
• Serves as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights and needs are respected and addressed. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Clinical nursing expertise in oncology care [Required]
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal [Required]
• Computer proficiency [Required]
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Additional languages [Preferred]
Education
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field Of Study
• Nursing
Work Experience
• 1+ experience in acute care nursing [Required]
• Oncology experience [Preferred]
