The primary responsibility of the Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide exceptional care and assistance in various clinical settings. This role operates with minimal supervision to ensure the provision of high-quality specialized patient care and to support the achievement of healthcare goals specific to that service line, which includes the office-based Specialty Care, such as the Oncology Infusion Suite

Essential Job Function:
• Evaluates the needs and medical conditions of individuals under care in specific clinical settings to provide tailored nursing support for optimal patient well-being.
• Studies patient records, which consist of medical history, diagnostic outcomes, and current health status, to establish customized nursing care plans.
• Engages in nursing protocols, such as administering medications, overseeing vascular apparatus, and executing therapies to deliver holistic and efficient care to patients.
• Administers medication and treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols and guidelines, ensuring the secure handling of both hazardous and non-hazardous medications for the protection of patients and staff safety.
• Ensures the alignment of medical records with regulatory standards and company policies through reconciliation.
• Reviews how patients respond to interventions and recognizes any supplementary actions required to achieve specific care objectives.
• Engages with an interdisciplinary group of providers to enhance the effectiveness of care plans.
• Functions as a well-informed source and counselor, delivering advice, knowledge, and assistance to peers and employees to cultivate an environment of perpetual education.
• Executes any other responsibilities given.

Education:
• Required: Associate degree in nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.

Experience:
• Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
• Preferred: Certification in Specialty eligible within 1 year of hire.
