The Division of Biostatistics is recruiting a statistician for a full-time non-tenure track faculty appointment to support clinical trials and pre-clinical/translational research in oncology. This will be a joint appointment in both the Division of Biostatistics (primary) and the Hematologic Malignancies Research Institute (HMRI) (secondary), at a rank consistent with qualifications and experience. The candidate selected for this position will report to the Director of Biostatistics and will have the opportunity to work with both physician-scientists and basic science researchers.

As a successful candidate, you will:
• Contribute to the HMRI’s research agenda through collaborative research resulting in presentations, publications, and grant funding.
• Contribute to science through collaborative and independent research including co-authoring papers and protocols.
• Serve as the statistician on preclinical/clinical studies and trial protocols.
• Establish a publication and funding track record.
• Develop novel statistical methodologies.
• Deliver talks on the results of the research.
• Maintain current knowledge of and contribute to advancements in the field through participation in professional organizations, scientific conferences, reading industry journals, and publication of manuscripts.
Your qualifications should include:
• Doctorate in applied biostatistics/statistics or similar field.
• Experience (minimum of 1-3 years) in designing and/or analyzing clinical trials. For recent graduates, doctoral level course work may substitute for this requirement.
• Excellent computing skills and a publication record documenting both self-directed and collaborative research. For recent graduates, work in progress manuscripts may substitute.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple collaborations.
• Experience in Hematology or Oncology.
• Some knowledge of small animal study designs.
• Ability to write efficient programs in R
