About The Job
The Research Professional 3 (RP3) serves as an experienced research specialist responsible for coordinating and implementing complex research projects in collaboration with principal investigators, research teams, community partners, and other stakeholders. This role provides leadership in project operations, research administration, data management, regulatory compliance, and dissemination of research findings. The RP3 independently manages multiple priorities while ensuring the successful execution of research activities and adherence to project timelines, budgets, and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
Research Project Management (30%)
• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day operations for multiple research studies and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, work plans, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with study protocols and funding requirements.
• Facilitate communication among investigators, collaborators, staff, and community partners.
• Support grant proposal development, reporting, and project planning activities.
Research Design and Implementation (25%)
• Assist in study design, protocol development, Consent development and research methodology according to UMN policies and procedures.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, enrollment, consent, retention, and data collection activities.
• Implement research procedures according to established protocols.
Data Management and Analysis (20%)
• Oversee data collection, entry, quality assurance, and database management.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate software and research methods.
• Prepare summaries, ct.gov reports and presentations to faculty and staff about the studies assigned.
• Ensure data integrity in oncore, box and REDCap and support dissemination of research findings.
Regulatory Compliance and Administration (15%)
• Prepare and manage Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews.
• Maintain research documentation and regulatory records. Including the department folders in Florence e-binders
• Ensure compliance with institutional, state, federal, and sponsor requirements.
• Monitor adherence to data security and confidentiality standards.
Collaboration and Professional Development (10%)
• Foster productive relationships with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and community stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and training to research staff, students, and volunteers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of research processes and best practices.
• Participate in professional development and scholarly activities.
• Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of relevant research experience, or advanced degree plus at least two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating research studies or projects.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experence working with institutional review boards
Preferred Qualifcations
• Knowledge of IRB processes and human subjects research regulations.
• Experience using research and analytical software such as REDCap,
• Expereince with other research tools, ETHOS, Oncore, Smartsheets, EPIC, REDCap, UMN Box, e-Florence Regulatory Binders.
