Job Description
A Research Intern position is available in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology & Reproductive Medicine under the mentorship of Chi Lam Au Yeung, PhD. The Research Intern will provide technical support for various research projects under the direction of the principal investigator. These research projects focus on characterizing the ovarian tumor microenvironment from multiple perspectives, with the ultimate goal of identifying novel biomarkers associated with chemoresistance, patient survival, and early detection. Responsibilities will include handling cell cultures and utilizing a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques to support ongoing research efforts.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Gain hand-on experience on molecular biology laboratory techniques such as PCR analysis, gel electrophoresis and Western blot analysis. Research intern will learn and practice the techniques and are expected to perform them independently. Also, explore ways to troubleshoot possible problems occur.
Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
