Position Overview

The Remote Outpatient Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services through secure telemedicine technology.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, clinically excellent psychiatrist who enjoys outpatient care, values patient relationships, and wants to practice without the administrative burden traditionally associated with private practice.

Responsibilities





Clinical Responsibilities


- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
- Perform psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and treat adult psychiatric conditions
- Provide ongoing medication management
- Develop individualized evidence-based treatment plans
- Utilize appropriate psychopharmacologic interventions
- Monitor medication effectiveness, tolerability, and safety
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medications
- Establish longitudinal therapeutic relationships with patients
- Coordinate higher levels of care when clinically appropriate






Conditions Treated

Provide evaluation and treatment for common outpatient psychiatric conditions including:


- Major Depressive Disorder
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Panic Disorder
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- ADHD
- Bipolar Disorder
- PTSD and trauma-related disorders
- OCD
- Insomnia
- Adjustment disorders
- Other adult outpatient psychiatric conditions






Documentation Responsibilities


- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Maintain compliance with clinical, regulatory, and payer requirements
- Utilize electronic health record systems effectively
- Document treatment plans, medication changes, and clinical outcomes appropriately






Collaboration Responsibilities


- Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in coordinated patient care when appropriate
- Communicate effectively with Aurora clinical and operational teams

Requirements

Required Qualifications


- MD or DO degree
- Active, unrestricted New York medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- DEA registration in good standing
- Experience providing outpatient psychiatric care
- Ability to independently evaluate and manage psychiatric patients
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to evidence-based psychiatric practice






Preferred Qualifications


- Prior outpatient psychiatry experience
- Experience practicing telepsychiatry
- Experience with medication management
- Experience treating adult psychiatric populations
- Familiarity with commercial insurance requirements
- Experience with electronic health records
