- Prepare and submit healthcare claims electronically via billing software and EMR/EHR systems, adhering to insurance requirements and deadlines.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information.
- Maintain detailed records of medical billing activities, including claim status updates, payment postings, and correspondence logs.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of medical records and coding for each patient encounter.
- Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and updates in medical terminology to ensure compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing statements or insurance claims promptly and professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and insurance verification.
- Proven experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- High-speed internet connection and a private, secure home office space.
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
