Role Summary

A competent nurse practices independently within their clinical setting, providing both routine and complex care while aligning with long-term goals. They demonstrate awareness of various aspects of patient care, manage contingencies, and delegate tasks appropriately to care team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care based on the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources.

Qualifications & Skills

• Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
