The Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology - Acute Care works closely with physicians, oncologists, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure effective treatment and recovery plans for patients undergoing cancer treatment and acute medical care. The Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology - Acute Care is responsible for delivering compassionate care while maintaining clinical excellence, patient safety, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

This Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology - Acute Care role requires strong clinical knowledge, emotional resilience, critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication skills. The Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology - Acute Care will support patients and families throughout treatment processes by providing education, emotional support, and healthcare guidance. The Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology - Acute Care must maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure safe medication administration, including chemotherapy and oncology-related treatments when required.

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients in acute care settings.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and treatment responses.
• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and oncology treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, oncologists, and healthcare professionals regarding patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, medications, and recovery plans.
• Monitor patients for treatment side effects, complications, and symptom changes.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control procedures, and patient safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and acute patient care situations.
• Support discharge planning and continuity of care services.
• Provide emotional support and patient advocacy throughout treatment processes.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures and patient assessments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare meetings and clinical improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior nursing staff when required.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional healthcare environment.

Education:
• Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing
• Bachelors Nursing-Preferred

Certifications:
• RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor

Experience:
• Less than 1 year Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours Required
• Direct patient care experience Preferred
