Registered Nurse Radiation Oncology

HealthONE is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Radiation Oncology department on a PRN basis. In this role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including assessment, education, symptom management, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including pre treatment and post treatment assessments
• Monitor patients during radiation treatments and promptly respond to changes in condition using appropriate clinical interventions
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document all care accurately in the EMRCollaborate with radiation oncologists, therapists, physicists, and other team members to implement and evaluate individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about radiation treatment, potential side effects, symptom management, and home care instructions
• Reinforce and follow radiation safety and infection prevention protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment
• Assist with patient positioning, comfort, and preparation for radiation procedures to support efficient treatment flow
• Triage patient concerns in person and by phone, escalating issues to providers as appropriate
• Participate in quality improvement activities and unit based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
• Maintain current nursing licensure and required certifications, and engage in ongoing professional development related to oncology and radiation therapy
• Support orientation and mentoring of new staff or students as requested
• Work a flexible PRN schedule, including coverage for varying shifts based on departmental staffing needs
