Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology

Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology at Johnston-Willis Hospital (HCA Virginia) delivers specialized nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy. Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to radiation oncology patients before, during, and after treatments
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and supportive treatments safely
• Monitor, document, and manage radiation-related symptoms and side effects
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side-effect management, and home care
• Coordinate care with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, therapists, and support staff
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and follow hospital protocols
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning
• Engage in ongoing professional development and competency maintenance in oncology
