Registered Nurse - Outpatient Oncology/Infusion

MedStar Health seeks a Registered Nurse for our outpatient oncology infusion center. The RN provides chemotherapy and biologic infusions, manages central lines, monitors patients for adverse reactions, and delivers symptom management and education to patients and families. Responsibilities include coordinating care with oncologists and interdisciplinary teams, documenting in the EHR, reinforcing treatment plans, and promoting safety and infection control. Responsibilities
• Administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive infusions per protocol and provider orders
• Monitor patients for infusion reactions and side effects; intervene and escalate as needed
• Provide oncology-specific patient and family education on treatments, side effects, and self-care
• Perform IV starts, manage central lines, and maintain strict infection-control standards
• Conduct ongoing assessment, symptom management, and treatment-related triage
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record
• Coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Reinforce treatment plans and follow-up instructions with patients and caregivers
• Support quality, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives in the infusion center
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
