Job Summary
This role involves practicing professional nursing by performing independent and delegated medical functions in line with accepted standards. Responsibilities include health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and supportive or restorative care, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills across biological, physical, social, and behavioral sciences. The nurse focuses on patient/member needs, building rapport and responding swiftly to ensure quality care.
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and emergency policies, demonstrating effectiveness in clinical interactions and promoting patient safety through proper medication administration, infection control, and hazard reporting.
Evaluate health status by collecting and analyzing subjective and objective data, identifying problems, and creating care plans.
Prioritize patient needs, triage in person or via telephone, and implement appropriate actions per protocols or provider guidance.
Assess emergency situations, initiate nursing interventions, and provide health education and counseling.
Execute delegated medical functions, including administering IV therapy and medications, supporting and restoring patient well-being, and referring patients for further care as needed.
Coordinate care across healthcare services, manage patient populations, and lead healthcare teams by modeling effective nursing practices and advocating for patients.
Qualifications
Minimum one year of RN experience and oncology experience within the past five years.
Graduate of an approved RN program with clinical experience supervised by faculty or preceptor.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid RN license (Colorado).
Basic Life Support certification within three months of hire.
Oncology Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification.
Skills & Additional Requirements
Strong customer service, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel between clinics in the Denver/Boulder region.
