Job Description
HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Oncology BMT unit. In this role, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology and bone marrow transplant patients, managing complex treatment plans, chemotherapy, and symptom management. You will monitor patient status, respond to changes, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals. RNs educate patients and families, support emotional needs, and ensure safe transitions of care. Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients following evidence-based protocols
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies safely and accurately
• Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, side effects, and home care requirements
• Maintain strict infection prevention and central line care practices to protect immunocompromised patients
• Use electronic health records to document care, communicate updates, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives, and best-practice implementation
• Support patients and families emotionally during complex and end-of-life situations
• Precept or mentor new staff and contribute to a culture of teamwork, learning, and professionalism
