Registered Nurse - Medical - Surgical (Pediatrics)

Summary:

- Location: Anschutz Medical Campus
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)


Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care in an 82-bed pediatric unit with a patient ratio of 1:3-4, occasionally 1:2 based on acuity.
- Participate in modified self-scheduling through the internal scheduling committee.
- Work 10 weekend shifts per 8-week scheduling block (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Float to various units including Medical, Oncology, Respiratory, Cardiac Acute Care, Rehab, NICU, and possible NOC sites.
- Manage high-flow oxygen weaning and administer ketamine and heparin drips.


Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric RN experience in a large pediatric facility.
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience.
- Experience with Trach/Vent patients, EVD and lumbar drains, chest tubes, JP drains, central lines, TPN/Lipids, CPM/Ortho/Halo traction, and various ostomy care.
- Experience in TBI, neuro assessments, seizure management, solid organ transplant patients (liver/kidney), and trauma and rehabilitation patients.
- Required Certification: BLS


Preferred Skills:

- BSN preferred.
- Previous travel experience preferred.
