Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg specialty, providing compassionate care in a leading acute-care hospital setting in Rochester, NY. This contract position is ideal for RNs with a passion for palliative care and a commitment to supporting patients and their families during challenging times.
The 4-1200 unit is dedicated to patients aged 18 and up who require intensive symptom management at the end of life. We are looking for RNs with strong IV and wound care skills, as well as the ability to manage complex patient needs and families in crisis. Astute assessment skills are mandatory to advocate for patients who often cannot speak for themselves. The unit also handles general medicine overflow.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a palliative care setting.
Utilize excellent IV and wound care skills.
Conduct thorough assessments to advocate for patients' needs.
Support families during critical moments.

Requirements:

NYS RN License
2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience
BLS certification from AHA
Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired
