Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide exceptional nursing care to patients and families within the hospice setting. This role involves documenting responses to health issues in a home health environment, collaborating with patients, families, and inter-professional teams, including physicians, to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
The RN will demonstrate competency in nursing practice while adhering to the full scope of nursing expertise and population-specific standards. Responsibilities include delivering preventative care, conducting assessments, patient education, triage, and executing a variety of nursing interventions.
To excel in this role, the RN will practice within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act and maintain compliance with the American Nurses Association's Scope and Standards of Practice.
Qualifications
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred; Bachelor's degree in nursing is a plus.
• A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred.
• Valid RN license required, with adherence to state-specific regulations; multistate licensure may be needed in Nurse Licensure Compact states.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification preferred.
