Your Responsibilities
As a registered nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in coordinating nursing care, which encompasses direct patient interaction, family education, and smooth transitions of care. You will support professional nursing practice throughout various settings to meet the needs of patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for your assigned patients within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model.
In this role, you'll lead by mentoring others, participating in quality improvement projects, and delegating patient care based on skill levels, experience, and resources available. Excellent communication skills will be essential, as well as the ability to adapt in an unpredictable environment. A portion of your responsibilities may require driving your personal vehicle.
This position is eligible for TN visa sponsorship.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must:
• Be a graduate from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA. If graduated from a non-accredited program, a minimum of one year of RN experience in a relevant healthcare setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is necessary.
• Entry-level Associate degree RNs must document the completion of a baccalaureate nursing degree within a specified time frame based on their start date.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Be experienced in team environments and possess computer skills; familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus.
• Adapt to flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Show proven leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and effective critical thinking.
• Hold a current RN license based on state requirements.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency for applicable state.
• Possess at least one year of RN experience in ambulatory and/or acute care settings, as well as one year in clinical trials research and/or hematology/oncology with chemotherapy experience.
Internal applicants are required to attach their three most recent performance appraisals; if less than three, please include all available.
Compensation and Schedule
Mayo Clinic offers an innovative compensation model for nursing that rewards your dedication, education, and experience, paired with a robust tuition reimbursement initiative designed to boost your professional growth and earnings potential. This full-time position consists of a 70-hour pay period with varying shifts: 4 x 10-hour shifts one week alternated with 3 x 10-hour shifts the following week, primarily during the days from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There is no weekend or on-call requirement.
