Role Overview
The RN Charge Nurse Leader in Acute Care Oncology is responsible for assessing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of safe, patient-centered care during their shift. They facilitate, precept, and mentor staff to promote professional growth and skill development. The charge nurse ensures adequate resources by collaborating with various departments to manage admissions, transfers, and discharges, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and policies. They hold team members accountable for safe, competent practice and quality care, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and evaluate patient care delivery during assigned shifts
• Mentor and support staff development
• Coordinate unit resources and patient flow
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continual improvement
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree required within 3 years of hire
• Current RN licensure in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience
• Leadership and coaching abilities
• Professional, ethical conduct and a passion for nursing and teamwork
• CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirements (if not current, must be obtained within 6 months)
