Job Description
REGIONAL APPRENTICESHIP CONSULTANT (Official title: Assistant Training Director (ATD))
Help shape Wisconsin's future workforce.
Wisconsin Electrical Apprenticeship & Training is seeking a highly organized, collaborative professional to support regional apprenticeship programs, strengthen partnerships, and keep complex programs, meetings, deadlines, and projects moving across Wisconsin.
THE ROLE
As a Regional Apprenticeship Consultant (ATD), you will serve as a trusted advisor and operational resource to assigned regional Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committees. You will work with employers, labor representatives, apprentices, applicants, educational partners, and state agencies to support consistent, effective apprenticeship programs.
This role combines relationship management, stakeholder engagement, committee facilitation, project coordination, workforce development, and program operations. You will work independently, balance competing priorities, and ensure decisions and commitments move forward.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide professional guidance and administrative support to assigned regional apprenticeship committees.
- Coordinate the full committee meeting process, including scheduling, agendas, materials, meeting participation, accurate minutes, and follow-up on action items and decisions.
- Advise committees on apprenticeship policies, program standards, operational procedures, and requirements to promote compliance and consistency.
- Coordinate apprenticeship activities, including recruitment, applications, interviews, registrations, enrollments, material orders, workforce initiatives, and related program processes.
- Monitor regional program activity, deadlines, and documentation; prepare reports and maintain effective communication with committees and organizational leadership.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with local unions, employers, apprentices, applicants, technical colleges, training organizations, and state and national agencies.
- Assist with local Training Trust Fund administration while managing multiple projects, anticipating upcoming needs, following through on commitments, and improving administrative processes.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a self-directed professional who takes ownership, brings structure and sound judgment to a complex workload, and enjoys working with people as much as organizing great work.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Strong judgment, prioritization, and follow-through.
- Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and support productive decision-making.
- Relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to interpret policies, solve problems, and improve processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, and other business applications.
TRANSFERABLE EXPERIENCE WELCOMED
Excellent candidates may come from a variety of industries and professional backgrounds. If your experience aligns with the responsibilities of this role, even if it is not in the electrical industry, we encourage you to apply.
- Workforce development, education, apprenticeship, or career-pathway programs
- Program administration, operations, project coordination, or executive support
- Association, nonprofit, economic development, or public-sector environments
- Committee, board, leadership-team, or multi-stakeholder program support
- Customer success, client relationship management, compliance, or program standard.
Electrical industry or skilled-trades experience is helpful, but not required.
