Experience in a cancer center or hospital setting is preferred. Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
Monitor patients during treatment sessions and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
Educate patients on the radiation therapy process, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
Ensure patient safety by following radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
Monitor and maintain inventory of radiation therapy supplies and equipment.
Stay current on advancements and changes in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
Provide emotional support and comfort to patients during treatment sessions.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions.
Collaborate with other members of the cancer center team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the delivery of patient care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Act as a positive representative of Mercy's Cancer Center and promote a caring and compassionate environment.
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
